Audits:
- Changes in epidemiology and outcome of patients with hip fractures over a seven-year period. Feb 2004.
50 patient’s case notes from 1996 and 50 patient’s case notes from 2003 with hip fractures are examined and their characters are compared. - Audit on efficacy of autologous blood transfusion in Total knee replacements. Feb 2004.
- Autologous blood transfusion was effective and the number of patients requiring homologous blood transfusion decreased significantly.
- Effect of ASA grading on mortality, morbidity and functional outcome after Hip fractures. Aug 2004.
- We found there is significant correlation with ASA. The higher ASA grade in patients with hip fracture is associated with a persistently high mortality and morbidity, despite advances in standards of care placing an ever- increasing burden on the health service.
- Audit for changing practices in treating displaced supracondylar fractures treated by percutaneous Kirschner wires. Sep 2004 Retrospectively reviewed 62 children with supracondylar fractures and established new set of guidelines for effective management.
- Documentation and Notes keeping. June 2004.Proposed to include documentation as a part of junior doctor induction program and auditing frequently.
- Flexible stable intramedullary nails (FSIN) for unstable tibial fractures in children: An 8 Year Experience. July 2005. We have retrospectively reviewed 56 tibial fractures in 54 children, treated FSIN. At final review all children have excellent functional outcomes.
- Re audit on displaced supracondylar fractures treated by percutaneous Kirschner wires. July 2005.This audit highlights how strict guidelines were followed and how many required remanipulation.
- Audit on Slipped Upper Femoral Epiphysis (SUFE). October 2005.
- Retrospectively reviewed 35 children with SUFE highlighting the short falls in management and suggested ways of improving.
