ABHYANGA

Abhyanga is a treatment technique of of Ayurvedic medicine that involves light rhythmic massage strokes on the body with large amounts of warm oil. These oils are often pre-medicated with herbs for specific conditions that could treat any internal or external ailments in the body. It is often followed by swedana therapy, a warm bath, yoga or laying out in the sun.

SHIRODHARA

A soothing relaxation treatment procedure in which the scalp and forehead is caressed with a thin stream of medicated lukewarm oil. Shirodhara is extremely relaxing, rejuvenating and enhances and reactivates the functioning of the central nervous system.

MARMA

Marma are certain important areas of the body. A therapy that deals with a subtle healing strategy is used to enhance and balance the flow of Prana – the vital life-force. This ayurvedic technique of healing relaxes the body as a whole. Marma is often known to be derived from Sanskrit that means the hidden. It is a point in the human body where two or more types of tissues such as muscles, veins, ligaments, bones and joints meet.

SWEDANA

A therapeutic procedure of inducing sweat with the help of medicated steam that helps in removing accumulated toxins from the body.

JANU VASTI

It is an oil based therapy with medicated oil on the knee joint for a specific period of time that eventually relaxes and reduces the pain and stiffness associated with knee joints. In many cases Janu Vasti provides a long standing relief.

GREEVA VASTI

A therapeutic procedure meant for rheumatoid arthritis etc, wherein warm medicated oil is retained in the cervical area of the body.

PATRA PINDA SWEDA (PPS)

A complete body massage using mediated boluses (potli) that helps improve blood circulation alongside healing stiff and injured body parts.

NASYA & DHOOMAPANA

Nasya or nasal therapy is a potent method to purify and nurture the mind and senses. This therapy cleanses, purifies and strengthens the nasal passages, thus allowing deep and easy breathing. It has miraculous results in treating congestion, allergies, sinusitis, headaches, migraine, rhinitis and other nasal infections. Dhoomapana is the inhalation of medicated fumes. It is an effective treatment for various sinus and respiratory diseases.

VIRECHANA

A procedure for detoxification in which toxins that cause circulatory disorders and toxins related to the abdomen and pelvis are removed by purgation. It is also additionally a special treatment for chronic back ache that is done by retaining medicated oil in the affected area.

MATRA VASTI

A cleansing procedure done through enema using medicated oil that is allowed to remain inside the colon for some time.

SUVARNA PRASHANA
